The economic loss caused by California's wildfires in 2018 was $150 million, claims a study. It is about 0.7 per cent of US GDP that year. Researchers found that direct capital impact accounted for $27.7 billion, while $32.2 billion came from the health effects of air pollution. They added that disruption of economic supply chains indirectly caused $88.6 billion in losses.
